1931 Congress Center ‘s-Hertogenbosch sees Corporate Social Responsibility as making conscious choices to achieve a balance between people, planet and profit. In this way 1931 takes responsibility for the effects of its business operations on people and nature. For example, our ink cartridges are collected for the AAP Foundation. This contribution is used to ensure a better living environment for monkeys and other exotic mammals. In addition, we plant five trees for each event organized at 1931 Congress Center ‘s-Hertogenbosch in collaboration with WeForest, an international non-profit organization aimed at restoring threatened forest areas in tropical countries.
1931 Congrescentrum ‘s-Hertogenbosch also has a Golden Green Key. This is an international quality mark for companies in the tourism and recreation industry and for meeting and conference locations that are seriously concerned with sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. For the Green Key Certificate it is important that various requirements are met, including setting up an energy-saving plan. This is accomplished in 1931 due to the extensive use of daylight in the location, which often makes additional lighting unnecessary. Waste is also separated and the amount of CO2 is reduced by participating in the “Waste to Energy” initiative. This means that 1931 generates green electricity from its own waste. In addition, 1931 uses glass bottles and these are filled by means of an Original water tap. In this way 1931 saves plastic and no water bottle transport is required. This helps to reduce the carbon footprint.
1931 Congress Center ‘s-Hertogenbosch also tries to be as sustainable as possible when it comes to catering. For example, many organic and regional products are purchased, including the fair trade coffee from PURO and sustainable food and non-food products from Eerlijk & Heerlijk. Of course the Bossche Bollen are also made in the region!
